Basic Rules
EVENT REFEREE
For this event, the referee will be: Councellor
Contestants
- May enter at any time. However you'll want to enter as soon as possible to get the most writs accomplished.
- Are required to purchase and use their own fuel materials.
- May use guild harvest box resources (if available) or purchase and use their own materials when crafting.
- Who craft inside the guild hall during this contest period will automatically be entered to win.
- May award their prize to another guild member. They may NOT award prizes to non-guild members.
- Placement will be determined by the total number of successfully completed writs recorded in the Guild Event Log for each day.
- Should check the Guild's Event Logs against the numbers on the leaderboards to make sure all writs have been counted. Numbers not challenged by close of the subsequent day will be considered valid.
- Qualifying Writs count per character and not per account.
- May not award their writs to any other Character or account.
- Referees for this contest are not eligible to compete in this contest.
Events not covered within this guide
- The Event Referee has the final say for any situation not covered within these rules or guidelines. When presented with a situation not covered here, the Event Referee will review the situation and will notify all contestants of his/her decision within 48 hours following the conclusion of the contest.
Ties and Tiebreakers
- 1st-4th Place: In the event of a tie, the applicable (coin) prize amount will be divided to the closest even amount between all tied contestants.
- 5th-8th Place: Contestants that have tied in one of these brackets (5th thru 8th place), will complete a "tie-breaker event". These contestants will group with the Event Referee and when directed to do so, will complete a random tie breaker roll of the magical die by the use of the "/random" or "/ran" command. These tied contestants will then be ranked from highest (closest to 100) to lowest (farthest from 100) with the highest roll being ranked #1. The next highest will be ranked #2 and so forth. The #1 ranked roller will be awarded the highest applicable tier prize for that place, the #2 ranked will be awarded the next highest tier prize for that place and so forth (see Example #1). In the event that two or more contestants tie during a tie-breaker roll, they will be grouped into the ranking for the roll-off and each will be awarded the same prize (see Example #2). In the event two or more contestants tie for a Tier 1 (5th-8th place) prize, the prize will be split as evenly as possible between all tied contestants rounding the prize amount up. (see Example #3)
Winners versus Losers
- Winning player(s) will be determined by the individual(s) who turn in the most completed writs during the specified contest time period. For this contest there are no "losers". Everyone who competes will earn a prize.
Qualifying Work Orders
- To qualify, work orders (writs) must (all of the following):
- - Be Crafting or Adventuring type writs
- - Be Rush or Regular writs
- - Be completed inside the Retributions Blade Guild Hall or in the world of Norrath
- - Award Guild Status Points
- - Be listed and shown as completed on the "EVENT" log
- - Be awarded to a current guild member in good standing
Overall Contest Total Writs are determined PER CONTEST (not per player).
Daily Contest Total Writs are determined by combining all completed writs for that day only (prior days not included).
EXAMPLES
- In our Sample Contest: There were 722 writs completed total for this contest. For the first six days 100 writs were completed. On day seven 122 writs were completed. Since there were a total of 722 writs completed overall, Tier 7 will be used to determine placement prizes.
- Example: Using our "Sample Contest" statistics at the conclusion of the seven days, John and Mary and Tom all tied for Tier 7 - 6th place. They each complete a roll off and John rolls a 92, Mary rolls a 74 and Tom rolls a 41. There were a total of 722 writs completed for this contest. According to the prize table, John would be awarded a (T7-6th place) Portal Painting #1, Mary would be awarded a (T6-6th place) Portal Painting #2 and Tom would be awarded a (T5-6th place) Portal Painting #3.
- Example: Using our "Sample Contest" statistics at the conclusion of the seven days, John, Mary, Tom and Marcy all completed 244 writs and placed fifth prompting a tie-breaker event for Tier 7 - Fifth place. John rolls 99, Mary and Tom both roll a 74, and Marcy rolls 66. John would be awarded the (T7-5th place) Portal Painting Set, Mary and Tom would be awarded the (T6-5th place) Portal Painting #1, and Marcy would be awarded the (T5-5th place) Portal Painting #2.
- For this example, there were a total of 245 writs completed for the entire contest. Johnny, Sarah, Mike and Lamar all tied for 7th place. They each completed a tie-breaker roll off with the following results: Johnny-97, Sarah-55, Mike-41 and Lamar-22. Since Prizes will be paid based on Tier 2, Johnny qualifies to receive 20 SC, and since there's only T1 left to award from, The remaining three contestants will split the T1 prize of 10 SC (or 3SC each).
PRIZES
Here's how the coin prize(s) will be paid out:
Daily Contest Results
Daily Prizes MAY be offered on any given day. Depending on the total number of writs completed in a day, the Event Referee may decide to offer prizes to all contestants that have completed writs on a particular day. Prizes may not be paid out every day - this depends on the total number of writs completed. It is the SOLE DECISION of the Event Referee to pay or not pay out daily prizes. In the event daily prizes are paid, contestants may be awarded prizes from the prize table or be awarded a single house or station cash item. The specific prize decided on, will be awarded to all contestants that have completed writs on the day daily prizes are awarded.
- Example: The Event Referee determines that 20 writs were completed on Monday, and it doesn't meet the predetermined (secret) reserve limit previously imposed for this contest. The Event Referee announces that no daily prize was given for Monday. On Tuesday 100 writs were completed, meeting the predetermined (secret) reserve limit previously imposed for this contest, the Event Referee elects to award prizes from the prize table for Tuesday. All contestants that completed at least 1 writ for Tuesday would be awarded prizes from the prize table according to the numbers completed on Tuesday only. On Wednesday 250 writs were completed. This amount met the predetermined (secret) reserve limit previously imposed for this contest, and the Event Referee elected to award a Station Cash prize to all contestants so all contestants that completed at least 1 writ on Wednesday would receive a Station Cash prize.
Daily prizes paid from the prize table will be paid according to placement. Daily prizes consisting of a House Item or a Station Cash prize will be paid equally to all qualified contestants. So what this means is if the Event Referee elected to award a Plushie House Item for Wednesday, every qualified contestant would receive the same Plushie House Item. Daily prizes will be paid based only on the writs completed on that day and not overall contest results. Overall contests results are used only for the final prizes awarded at the end of the contest. So while it's important to place well at the end of the competition, it's also important to complete writs on a daily basis.
Overall Final Contest Results
Contestants will win a prize based on the total number of writs they've completed and the place they've obtained amongst all the other contestants. So while it's important to place well, it's also important to complete as many writs as possible. Prizes will be paid out as indicated in the prize table below. Coin prizes will be multiplied by the applicable tier multiplier to determine total coin awarded for that prize. Prizes may be paid out daily (optional) but WILL be paid out for the totals at the conclusion of the contest.
EXAMPLE
Using the "Sample Contest" statistics, John placed first, Marsha placed second, Tom placed third and Lisa placed fourth. Since there were a total of 722 qualifying writs crafted, Tier 7 is used to determine the highest level of prize to be paid out. Tier 7 uses a (7) multiplier. Since John placed first, and first place pays 100 gold, John would win 100g x 7 = 700 gold (or 7p). Marsha in second place would win 75g x 7 = 525 gold (or 5p25g). Tom in third would win 50g x 7 = 350 gold (or 3p50g) and Lisa in fourth would win 25g x 7 = 175g (or 1p75g).
